Vocalists wanted : info page
I have set up this page as a way of introducing ourselves to any interested vocalists. We are a group of songwriters with our own Studio on Brisbane's South (near Hyperdome) with a large collection of original material is seeking a vocalist/s to complete wide range songs.
The music is extremely varied in style, from contemporary sounds to retro (60/70's), Funk, Rock and even x-over country (not much real country); the ideal vocalist/s will have an interest in different styles and be willing to try out new things. Hear demos below NOTE please take the time to listen to more than one or two songs as we write a wide variety of music.
The goal is to produce recordings of high quality for submission for placements in film and TV and publishers.
The Important points
- This project does not require any long term commitment on your
part and can be done on a song by song basis.
- On completion will be given a CD of your work.
- you will then be free to use these recordings for your own use,
live, self-promotion or CD or internet release.
- Important Note: we will retain writing copyright,
so it would work exactly like you performing a cover.
- Our timing is flexible ie: work & family commitments etc,
and we will most likely to be able to fit in your free time.

Bluecrystal Creative is involved with writing and publishing a wide range of material and has its own studio. Please take the time to listen to more than one or two songs as we write a wide variety of music.

The Process
Typically we do one song from scratch in a 3-5hr session where I'll use
whatever tools needed to get the final result (editing/pitch correction etc).
That said at least a third of the time after hearing the finished track
people will say "now I get it" and ask to comeback and give a more
complete performance .
So how do you go about selecting people for the tracks?
The first few times we meet, We'll chat while I play random demos,
until you hear something you like (hopefully), after a while I'll develop more of an idea
of you as a singer (range/styles etc) and try to have 2/3 suitable songs ideas waiting.
Do I need to audition or just pick a day that suits?
Just pick a time that suits us both and as I said we'll chat while I play random
demos and just give something a go,
Is it paid work or just for the love of it?
I pay if I could, but sadly I don't have much money, however as I said, you can use the songs for your own promotion, one of the other guys built up enough songs over time to release his own CD, I then gave him copies of the tracks without vocals for him to use at his solo gigs
To keep it in perspective what we are aiming for is completed tracks
that are the equal of whats currently released in that style.
